Maintenance/Procautions prior to European Trip

Hi all, I'm in the process of planning a driving trip from the UK via ferry to Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Holland, some 2000 miles, over a period of 3 weeks in early June this year.

I'm looking to compile a list of maintenance items that should be done prior to the trip. What would you recommend is done as a precaution, and what items should I take with me as a precaution etc?

Does anyone have advice on the ferry trips, with regard to getting the car loaded and the clearance/turning circle?

Its a 2001 Tuscan, with 31,000 miles. No rebuild, running very well. Suspect the clutch has been replaced but no documented evidence of when.

There are no issues boarding the international ferry. The internal ferries in Norway need a little care. You simply need to make sure that you're not directed onto one of the ramped levels. They don't have many sports cars in Norway so the staff don't always seem to be conscious of the effects of a low car.

Have you got European cover for breakdown.
I have got ADAC(German) which covers you for the hole of Europe for €83.
Also dont forhet to inform your insurance. You have to pay a fee.

So long as you've got breakdown cover that will bring the car home in the event of something catastrophic happening, I wouldn't be too worried. I'd take:

Spare accelerator cable
Fuses (inc. the big ones)
Bulbs
Some sort of flat tyre plan (perhaps just the breakdown service, I've had mixed results with tyre foam and if you use it you're probably looking at a new tyre anyway)
20l can of spare fuel
5l of oil
5l of water

Can't think of much else right now...

All of the above and Gaffer tape, blue tack, super glue, exhaust clamps and cable ties.

Oh, and make sure you secure the exhaust cans with a couple of self tappers

Other than the basics of oil, brake fluid etc. dont forget the regulations require hi-vis vest, warning triangle, first aid kit and spare bulbs.
I travel to Germany regularly and dont take any extra parts with me.
