"Reverse Grids" says Patrick Head

Patrick Head thinks organising grids back-to-front (by championship position) would make for more exciting racing. I can understand why people would oppose this, but it would certainly make for some exciting shenanigans!

The cream will allways rise to the top,For sure F1 have got to some thing to give the paying punters value for money. The trouble at the moment is with the aero packages they run there is only one line around the circuit and starting the best at the front makes most of the races a forgone conclusion.
Us fans have to rave about Alonso pass of MS at Suzuka or Lewis!s dive up the inside of Kimi at Monza,Over the season i doubt wether there are 20 decent overtaking moves made.
Both Patrick and Frank are proper racers so they know what the public need.
In my younger years in Karts the heats were far more rewarding to drive,For starting of the front in the final you knew barring breakdown you had it made.
And when i turned to Short Cicuit racing it was great with their grading system.
Now Sky are showing Nascar live I have really become hooked and Kyle Buschs car control at Atlanta was fantastic,Over in the States the fans get proper value for money.
I am praying that getting up early on sunday morning i am going to be able to watch a proper race rather than another boring procession that is more about lining the pockets of the very wealthy and not at all about us fans.

Its a silly idea.
The problem is the disparity of the grid.
My local kart track run a class that allways has only or less than a second seperating all the qualifiers.
In F1 some cars are two plus seconds off the pole pace..
In all honesty thats a different planet.
Very few national class series have such a grid spread as F1
