I have just replaced the rear disc brakes on my '91 4.0L auto.
Whilst I was there, I replaced the parking brake pads.
I set the parking brake calliper so the parking brake pads just brushing against the discs. I have now put the IRS back in place and taken the slack out of the parking brake cable. However parking brake is all but useless without a lot of effort and the lever making at least 5 clicks.
What have I done wrong and can I repair it without taking the IRS out again!
If I do, does anyone want to buy an XJS for spares !
Many thanks Robert

its quite easy just to remove the handbrake calipers with pads. remove the handbrake calipers their seperate, with two 10-13 mm bolts per caliper.
ps my xj6 coupe handbrake cable had seized inside, so wouldn't operate. its a very agricultural setup. regards.
