well, we have bitten the bullet, and brought a porsche 944 for track use and a couple of trips to the 'ring good times!!!!!

what we would like to do is to do a couple of cheaper airfield type days to learn the characteristics of this crazy old german!!

hope this doesnt go against the hardcore trackdayers we would just rather learn the car in a relitavely safe minimal damage type environment first. Anyone recommend or put me in touch with any organisers in east anglia/essex area?

Thanks guys, and hope to see some of you about in the coming months

Javelin run days at Woodbridge near Ipswich, google Javelin track days and you'll find them.

You can get on an evening event quite cheap.
Focused Events have a evening at Brands on the 21st April I booked on for £99
which I though was cheap. Its a fairly safe circuit in terms of a novice, you should be fine there.

I can second Javelin Trackdays, particularly Woodbridge which is a very interesting circuit. They packed too many cars on last time I went but overall, it's a good day out. Their Barkston Heath slalom days are good fun too. Then there's Snetterton which you can do for £89 for a day or £59 for half a day, through various organisers (Heritage Track Days are good - they often have some rather nice cars on track too!)
