Get the Elise on track and be staggered by its ability first!
Buying the Noble is one thing, running it another. Every time I've been tempted by a Fezza a quick scan through the pile of service bills puts me off.

I know I know, you've got the lady, but another one sparkles in the corner of your eye on the dance floor, you know she'll take you to the cleaners, you've got the one you want but can you resist just a quickie.... a taste? I take it they're expensive to run then?....both sides open without a clam off, and its a ford ! surely it can't be that much more expensive to run for a weekend and track thrash?

Ask speedyellow. Look up profile and see his ex cars and then realise the one he is having trouble getting rid of....

I know what you mean, they are a great drive and they do have lots of power...but...they do cost a lot to run - tyres aren't cheap, you'll need a baffled sump if you want to track it, the engine installation has a few issues amongst other things, then there's the complete lack of storage space.

I'd suggest booking a driving experience in one - I got a last minute place on a corporate day a few years back by pure luck and drove one. At least you'll get to know what it's like to drive but only one relatively small bill at the end of the day.

I think that is a cracking recommendation for any car hehe ... especially the more expensive they get. Proof of the pudding is can you live with it for whatever purpose you intend it for driving day to day or toy ?

My brother had one (a 2.5) for about a year. It was staggeringly fast and great fun but was off the road for a fair bit of the year uith one thing or another and every bill was a big one.

I was tempted by them when I bought my Exige but found the lotus to have 99% of the performance, all of the fun, a much nicer interior and a less scary proposition when something goes wrong.

It was very fast though and got a LOT of attention.

Don't do it. It is more Lotus than Lotus, more beautifull (?), more extreme, more expensive and more not user friendly.
For me the Lotus "quality" was the limit I accept to have for the level of performance given. I would not go any further.
BTW I even went back to something more conventionnal

I toyed with the idea of one as a mate of mine off PH was selling his and it was a real beauty. Driving it was simply staggering, in fact scarey. Thats compared to any of my previous TVRs and drives in cerberas and tuscans. I wasnt so sure about the on/off of the turbos mind, especially mid bend! Staggering car, but frankly I wouldnt use that level of performance with my lack of talent.

Same as someone mentioned, I chose my Exige S over a Noble. The Noble looked like it'd spend more time off the road than on, and thats something I didn't want after my previous car was like it.

the engines go "pop"... Although the short engine is cheap as chips, try getting a quote for a swap-out...
