I'm looking for a small (inexpensive) trailer for my Westy on a very limited budget. I haven't got time to trek all over the country looking at second hand ones, so was looking at the cheapest new option. Any ideas? Alos, any idea what size I'd need to buy?

Cheers!

Had the same problem recently and unfortunately there isn't a straight forward answer. Brian James and Ifor Williams have the best range, mainly depends on the total width of your car, I needed 5'9" which was a problem. Ended up buying an Ifor Williams CT135 (I think!), splashed out and went for twin axle for better stability, wasnt cheap but none of the new ones are, but will make circuits that are a distance much more accessable.

I did a similar investigation last year and concluded that a single axle Woodford Trailer would be ideal.

I am very glad that I bought a new, professionally built, trailer from this small, but very customer friendly, company and would recommend them unreservedly.

Single axles tow horribly.

Get a nice BJT Minno for about a grand, use it as required and then sell for a grand when finished.

Good club type trailers never lose money if kept nicely.

Badly loaded or poorly maintained single axles tow horribly, not single axles per-se.

Having said that Id always go for a twin axle if possible from a safety point of view (in case of a blowout) and because they are less sensitive to how they're loaded.

Minimum spend is not going to be much less than a grand though even for second hand. New you're looking at £1200-1300+

A lot of the mk guys this weekend where on woodfords.
- As loco says, there not reason a single axle should tow all right.
- We have a single axle 8*4 thats clocked up miles and miles very well.

Ive never heard anything bad about indespention eather.
- And anyone not on woodfords this weekend where on minnos
