My Dad took delivery of his Impreza 2.0R just before Christmas.
This is his 4th Impreza - they're used for high-speed commuting over the Pennines and to date all have been absolutely bullet-proof.
Not so with the new model however. The Hill Start Assist warning light keeps coming on, and the local dealers (Monty's in Sheffield) have had 4 unsuccessful attempts to fix it. They've also had assistace from IM HQ in Coleshill, but to no avail.
It looks like Monty's will reverse the deal and my Dad will get his old car back.
Have Subaru lost the plot? The only Impreza hatchback I've seen on the road (apart from this one) is the Twyford dealer demonstrator.

Not sure that one fault is enough to write a car off as 'rubbish' IMO. But they really should be able to fix it, if its anything like the hill-holder/clutch-brake thing in the old Leones (and some Legacies) its not that complicated or expensive to replace the unit.

A poxy hill start assist warning light??

Its anew model, new models have teething issues, if it was a ford it'd be setting itself on fire.

wink One of the NZ mags gave the new STi a car of the year award this month, first in the performance category over the M3 and Evo X, then overall as well. Can't be too bad then...

Fair point. To tell the truth, they are both a bit disapointing next to the previous models.

I think that has been the same ever since the 2000 Model Impreza (P1) and also the Evo VI

Even though some of the newer generation cars are faster but as a overall package i would have a P1 or a Evo VI over any of the newer generation ones if it was going to be for a weekend/occasional car. But i need at the moment a good alround with good A-B performance.

The P1 and TME were without a doubt the best lookers of both marques and will always be the most sought after.
With the X there is an FQ360 out so I can't see many GSR's staying standard and less than 350 bhp for too long.
What model differences are there available for the Subaru?
