Just a thought. I know a lot of you are running mild to heavy mod motors but what do you pay?
The missus and I renew at the same time (end of Feb). Last year Direct Line wanted nearly 600 quid for her W plate Cherokee and Norwich Union wanted a bag of sand for my 54 VXR 'ro. These are both 9 years or so protected NCB and class B business use. I thought that was a bit rich and had a shop around finally settling for Admiral dual car policy £780 the pair! THIS year, they REDUCED that!!!!! £733. Is this as good as I think?

There seems to be no consistency with insurance. Speak to a different person, get a different quote. I'm 29 with 4 years no claims on an 06 CV8 Monaro. No bans, convictions or offences. I tried lots of places and was either refused or quoted stupid money (£3700 anyone?)
I tried Elephant (part of Admiral) and was quoted £1300 which I was prepared to pay, but when I subsiquently found out and declared the mods on my car, they withdrew their quote. I would say you are getting a good deal.
I found it very difficult to get a quote from anyone after I declared mods to insurers. I ended getting a very good quote of £622 with Greenlight Insurance after they came recommended. I read threads on here with people younger than myself getting even better deals than that, but in all honestly I don't know how bceause I had a nightmare. I tried all the specialists, not just your standard high street ones.
I seem to remember Clarkson ringing some insurance companies when he tested the Veyron to see how much it would cost him to insure and was refused by lots of places. At the end of the show he managed to insure it for something silly like £600, so it shows it pays to shop around.
If you're paying that for two cars, then I would think that's good, but I'm sure someone will be along in a min to say they are paying £5 for 3 cars with their blind/deaf grandmother as a named driver for track days

just renewed ours for about 800 squid on admiral multicar. 05CV8 and 02 2.2 Zaf. both on class 2 business aswell. didn't shop round as we left it too late (ie admiral had already took the next years payment by DD!) but reckon we wouldn't get much cheaper.
Makes a big difference where you live though. I changed post codes last year and got £150 discount for the new post code (and no, the old post code was not in Beiruit..........)

Insurance pricing really amuses me, when I got the CV8 (group 20) last year I contacted my insurance company (Privilege) they quoted just under £300 comprehensive, protected no claims,£500,00 legal protection, guaranteed car hire. Two people on the policy etc.
Last week I bought a Jeep Patriot (group 10) to replace the Clio as an everyday car. Insurance quote
for the same cover as Monaro - £475,no change in circumstances, still have no claims dating back to 1990, still have the same job, SDP use etc.
Did shop around and got it for £220 with another large Insurance group.

Thanx for the feed back guys. Isn't it shocking, Direct line want £415 for a hairy arsed VXR8 (chrispaull) but £580 for my old Lot's knackered Cherokee, amazing...
Still it does cheer me up that I seem to have got a good deal for the last couple of years.
Interesting this A plan, if I do bolt a few exciting bits that may be worth a look...I've already got Tracker so what the hey.

Definitely worth trying www.gocompare.co.uk
I found through this that e-sure were cheapest for me - 5.7 VXR, business use, for me (0 points, 5 years no claims) and my wife (3 points, and minor accident in December), £600.
