If the planned 2p rise in fuel duty goes ahead, it will generate an extra £1 billion for the government, but the Chancellor has been under pressure from motorists and the haulage industry to abandon it. Reports suggest he is undecided at the moment, and could still be swayed. If you think he should scrap the 2p increase, make your views known on the blog.

Already been confirmed/leaked that the 2p rise will be postponed six months.

What he hasn't said is what will happen to the original planned 2p rise in six months - 4p anyone?
