Have been looking to see if there have been any changes in the road tax for motorbikes in this Budget.
How much more are we going to be paying for the privilage of using our bikes?

Can't believe how much the car bands are going to change and how much some cars are going to cost, and all cars from 2001 onwards.

Maybe these petitions guys need to club together, thats the second one I've seen on the same subject!

What about a petition to end VED for bikes seeing as certain cars will be free or much less than a bike to tax for a year??? Why are we given no benefit for our 'greeness'???? Oh no that would probably mean emissions testing of bikes which we really don't want!

That's my thinking as my CB1300 is bound to be hiked up next!!!

I think we need some kind of drivers and riders group against these unfair "Green" taxes.

As a driver and rider, that would be something I would put my name too.

I was told by Edinburgh Council that my bike was as polluting as some cars and just as congesting!!! bks.

From £63 to £66 could have been worse, whilst I don't agree with the VED rate on a bike, I'm not going to get too upset about a £3 rise but both my cars are going from £190 to £415 yikes now that is just a greed/spite/envy tax....... furious

It does seem wrong that a bike should pay more tax than a car but looking at emissions, my bike uses more fuel than a small car and since it has no catalytic converter/runs richer then it will be more polluting - not that that is a valid reason for taxing higher but it would be the arguement used if they tested emissions on bikes.

Your right we should enjoy it while we can as you can be sure they will target superbikes someday.

In comparison my car tax was £300 last year, £400 this year and £415 next year and £430 the folowing year.
