E39 Ignition Switch

Can anyone advise on the best place to acquire a new ignition switch for the E39? Is there an OEM version - or is it available only from main dealers?

I'd prefer a brand new one, as opposed to a refurb/scrappie part.

Can't imagine it's all that expensive; given the aggro of a cheap one try the main dealer. Maybe £25?

Yeah - it's about £35 or so from a main dealer, but was curious if they were all the same - or if I was better going for an OEM one for whatever reason.

You could try euro car parts, GSF or motormec.
