Probably need to get that tumbleweed smiley out, 'cos this sure is a bit geeky
But if any of you use Nikon bodies which will take the different eyepieces, an inexpensive upgrade which looks like it'll make things better is the little DK-17M replacement eyepiece (gives a modest sounding 1.2x view). In fact just sitting here fiddling, it looks a really great viewfinder now!
- can't wait to use it in anger. I've just fitted mine together with a DK-19 eyecup.
But if anyone already does use this combination, do you know how the rings from the cup and the eyepiece are supposed to stack up??? I can only seem to manage to fit the combo on without either of them. It seems to fit right and allows the viewfinder shutter to open (and locks in place) so I cannot see a problem like that - it's just I don't feel comfortable with the bits left over on the desk!!!

I have also been looking for a magnifying eyepiece and came across this discussion.

"I've had much better luck with a Nikon DK-17m, the round magnifier for the D2X. I took a 2370 adapter, milled out the threaded part until it fit the DK-18m snug, and glued the DK-17m into place. Added a DK-19 eyecup, and the D200 viewfinder is a real pleasure"
