Can anyone elighten me as to exactly what is required to achieve this service item? A few indies are not familiar with this scheduled item.

Are there grease points or does this relate to UJ type joints along the prop ? and if so what shoud you be lubricating them with?

Sounds familiar...I know when I bought my chim it quickly developed a nasty vibration at around 70. After some head scratching and poke and hope diagnostics it turned out that the joint appeared to never have been greased and was dry as a bone. After it was dismantled, cleaned and packed with grease all vibration ceased. I now make a point of having it greased at every service.

This never seems to get done,as you have to take the exhaust off, mine needed replacing at 9000 miles, same as checking the clutch master cylinder fluid level.I have seen loads of cars that have full main dealer S/H with the originl silicone seal intact.

I think its the telescopic propshaft with a flange on the end, ie LT77 box, that has the nipple. I believe the T5 box uses a splined shaft - not sure if this has a nipple.

UJ's are hit & miss - some have nipples, some don't.. grease them if you have nipples.

I have a similiar problem that bigdods had.
I get a vibration at higher speeds and hard acceleration.
Suspected the propshaft for a while looked at the bible tonight and it mentions rebuild and put in new yokes.
Assume there must be rebuild kits anyone have any clue where to look.
Rover part?

Fitted the new spiders today seeing the weather was better today.
Taking the exhaust off was'nt a major problem like i thought it would be but it could do with 2 of you due to the weight i used the jack to take the weight as i have no matesbiggrin
I pressed out the spider with a pair of sockets to use as formers and a hammer and rebuilt them.
That was easier than i thought.
Putting the prop back on i noticed the grease nipples were unusable the way i had built it they need to face each other.
I had to strip them down and rebuild them.
Please take note anyone wishing to do this job remember the nipples.
Also would be good idea if you took the nipple out when building them very easy to break it when pressing them in as they can hit the yoke.
These spiders are much smoother than the origionls so hopefully money well spent.
Not completed the job as i noticed exhaust carrier well worn so need to order that part will complete at weekend.
Cheers
