Small article about this seasons GT3. Nice paint, lovely decals, oh - and 350bhp. Which is nice.

I think I've just soiled myself!

350bhp? Nearly 200bhp/L. That's just silly.

If they can get 350 out of it on track there's got to be 260+ on the road. Maybe they'll increase power and reduce servicing intervals. I'd be more than happy with 280 and 4-6000 mile intervals.

(looked at an Exige Sprint and a 240 today cloud9 )

No it's not - Honda have been doing that with an NA engine (F20C) in the S2000 for 9 years now

350hp? sounds like a good startbiggrin

I wonder how they did that, also what internal changes and oil coolers and turbo...
350hp is not so difficult with a turbo, only make to it reliable for road use day in day out is I guess, and what would it cost to make a "safe" 350hp out that engine, sure the Japanese guys tune them a lot in the celica's and MR2 but for the Lotus there are not many people who built them, I only know

http://forcedfed.com/elise/turbokits.html

they also built a 400hp version but not heard about that anymore besides the democar

Any word on the GT3 roadcar? Those wide arches make me go wobbly at the knees, and I thought the GT3 concept the best looking Lotus I've ever seen.

So. Where the hell is it?

GLOL at this thread!

at 350Bhp, that engine struggled to live for more than 10 minutes, the car in question (in Aus) is not running that spec, the owners would quite like it to last a race weekend.

as for 350Bhp from 1.8L, with forced induction, that's hardly record breaking, just a question of how hard you are prepared to push it.

Not sure about the proposed road cars, but the GT3 race car programme is dead...(que Monty Python sketch!)

A customer enters a lotus dealership.

Mr. Praline: 'Ello, I wish to register a complaint.

(The owner does not respond.)

Mr. Praline: 'Ello, Miss?

Owner: What do you mean "miss"?

Mr. Praline: I'm sorry, I have a cold. I wish to make a complaint!

Owner: We're closin' for lunch.

Mr. Praline: Never mind that, my lad. I wish to complain about this car what I purchased not half an hour ago from this very dealership.

Owner: Oh yes, the, uh, the GT3 Blue...What's,uh...What's wrong with it?

Mr. Praline: I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. 'It's dead, that's what's wrong with it!

Owner: No, no, 'e's uh,...it's resting.

Mr. Praline: Look, matey, I know a dead car when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now.

Owner: No no it's not dead, it's, it's restin'! Remarkable car, the Lotus GT3 Blue, idn'it, ay? Beautiful bodykit!

Mr. Praline: The bodykit don't enter into it. It's stone dead.

Owner: Nononono, no, no! 'it's resting!

Mr. Praline: All right then, if it's restin', I'll get it started! (shouting at the car) 'Ello, Mister GT3! I've got some lovely fresh Silkolene for you if you
show...

(owner hits the car)

Owner: There, it moved!

Mr. Praline: No, he didn't, that was you hitting the car!

Owner: I never!!

Mr. Praline: Yes, you did!

Owner: I never, never did anything...

Mr. Praline: (yelling and hitting the car repeatedly) 'ELLO GT3!!!!! Testing! Testing! Testing! Testing! This is your nine o'clock alarm call!

(Kicks car violently.)

Mr. Praline: Now that's what I call a dead car.

Owner: No, no.....No, 'it's stunned!

Mr. Praline: STUNNED?!?

Owner: Yeah! You stunned it, just as it was startin' up! Lotus GT3 Blues stun easily, major.

Mr. Praline: Um...now look...now look, mate, I've definitely 'ad enough of this. That car is definitely deceased, and when I purchased it not 'alf an hour
ago, you assured me that its total lack of movement was due to it bein' tired and shagged out following a prolonged race.

Owner: Well, he's...he's, ah...probably pining for the fords.

Mr. Praline: PININ' for the FORDS?!?!?!? What kind of racing talk is that? Who pines after fords anyway. And look, why did it fall apart the moment I got 'it home?

Owner: The Lotus GT3 Blue like falling to bits! They all do that sir. Remarkable car, id'nit, squire? Lovely maxpower bodykit!

Mr. Praline: Look, I took the liberty of examining that car when I got it home, and I discovered the only reason that it was sitting there in the first place was that it was up on axle stands.

(pause)

Owner: Well, o'course it was on axle stands! If I hadn't put it on axle stands it would ave driven off all by itself. Winning races and all like. Voom.

Mr. Praline: "VOOM"?!? Mate, this car wouldn't "voom" if you put four million volts through it! 'it's bleedin' demised!

Owner: No no! 'it's pining!

Mr. Praline: 'it's not pinin'! 'it's passed on! This car is no more! It has ceased to be! It's expired and gone to meet 'its maker! 'it's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'it
rests in pieces! If you hadn't nailed 'it to the axle stands 'it'd be be in the back of a skip! 'Its mechanicalc processes are now 'istory! 'it's off the dyno! 'its's kicked the
bucket, 'it's shuffled off 'its mechanical coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-CAR!!

(pause)

Owner: Well, I'd better replace it, then. (he takes a quick peek behind the counter) Sorry squire, I've had a look 'round the back of the shop, and uh,
we're right out of GT3's.

Mr. Praline: I see. I see, I get the picture.

Owner: I got a Aston though.

(pause)

Mr. Praline: Pray, does it actually get round the track?

Owner: Nnnnot really.

Mr. Praline: WELL IT'S HARDLY A BLOODY REPLACEMENT, IS IT?!!???!!?

Owner: N-no, I guess not. (gets ashamed, looks at his feet)

Mr. Praline: Well.

(pause)

Owner: (quietly) D'you.... d'you want to come back to my place?

Mr. Praline: (looks around) Yeah, all right, sure.
