I always surf around this site after selling my 2001 Tuscan looking for exceptional cars!!

There is a Passion Purple S reg Cerb for sale on the classifieds in Consett, which has done only 12,000 miles IN THE DRY!!!!With a full TVR service history

If true that is amazing do you guys think this would be a great buy?? Is it the lowest dry mileage car out there??

Might be lower mileage but most people are aware TVR's are better used than sat about so the oil drains off the important parts. Electrics could be a problem if it's been used so little, best bet would be to put it too use and fix all the problems which arise, or just buy a well used model biggrin

It's the one I've been rattling on about and was going to make a 5 hour drive (each way) to see tomorrow:

See post: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Unfortunately the seller has another commitment so maybe I'll reschedule. Possibly not as it took me a couple of days to plan the trip (insurance quotes, transferring money, phoning the garage that serviced it, picking TVR PHers brains, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.....

Sound slike a genuine car / owner though...

One look at the alloys shows the level of care I suppose, they look immaculate! I'm still staggered!

Thanks for the compliments all. I've recently changed the alloys to Moonraker Black to match the bodywork. Not to everyones taste I know but I like them.

Cars done 20K miles now and only dry miles from new even though I can only speak for the last 3 years.

Decatted now with standard back box, a nice balance IMO.

Here's a few pics. There are more on my profile.

I'm still tempted by this though.

This Sag looks and sounds very nice and is one of my favorite combos, silver car black interior. Not sure about exhausts, I actually like the Mk 1 side exit ones. Still a stunning car though, I would love it. It's just the small matter of selling my Cerb, oh and finding the extra cash.

Regards
Simon

What utter B*ll*x and by what measure is it so clearly better ?.

More relaible - probably overall, but engines vary so much from one unit to the other.

More powerful - possibly, but only when fettled. There are plenty of standard SP6 engines putting out a genuine 360bhp, but not many standard 4.5's make 360bhp straight out the box. Yes they get to 400bhp+ once tweaked, but that's still less than 100bhp/litre. My standard red rose 3.6 SP6 makes 376bhp which comfortably exceeds the 100bhp/litre.

So, any AJP being better than a SP6, I think not !

SimonKD - I find the rear facing exhausts look much better than the side ones, I like the way the wrap around of them looks similar to the Cerberas lower body design and find it just looks alot less tacky than the sides... I certainly think they would age better...

Beautiful Cerb too, not sure I'd be able to let that go for any car sub £100k. thumbup

Edit: to answer the OP's question - No, it isnt... ours is the best Cerbera in the UK - even with its aging chassis/73k mile old engine/ scruffy paintwork. cloud9thumbup

Hi Trevor

Had the exhaust sections containing my cats removed, cut open and the cats removed then the exhausts rewelded back up. Apparently this works better with a standard backbox.
The pops and bangs on overun are louder and more frequent and the "bark" between 5000 & 7000 rpm is more pronounced. Put it this way I'm very happy with the new soundtrack.

BCA, I've had a good look at Doms Sag II on 2 occasions this week and I think you're right. Exhausts look and sound fine, in fact at a standstill the engine revs with a certain urgency at a blip of the throttle, crisp to say the least.

Aha, yes! Guilty as charged. She's had a bit of 'spit n polish' since then.

Do like your black with black wheels theme cool

It was a big step to change from standard silver to moonraker black. But I did have a fallback. Dom at TVR Power said if I didn't like them he'd have them and give me a set of standard silver ones in return. Nice offer really but the black ones have really grown on me. Up until now I've always prefered dark wheels with light cars and dark cars with light interior and vice versa, I've actually suprised myself with these wheels.

So, 5K now and how is She/He?

Pretty good thanks Simon. Recently had her 1st annual service - which went well (opted for a 12k jobbie - which the bank manager/wife was happy about) and other than that just taking her out as much as you can at this time of year. Oh, I did get a SPA electronic water temp gauge fitted into where the centre vent was - beneath the steering wheel, as my heart couldn't take anymore of the capillaries' lies! But other than that, just plenty of spit n polish.

I've got a few other things planned for this year though, starting off with a set of carbon airboxes, but certainly nothing too 'exotic', just improving small areas where the factory was constrained to a tight budget.

I'm definitely planning to get her out and about to as many shows as I can, so probably see you around somewhere. smile

Thanks

Lee
