Just got "speed checked" by a Met trafpol, between Ickenham and Harefield. I was probably speeding, in convoy with 4-5 other cars.

He was holding what looked like a LTI 20-20 ..

He wasn't using it on a tripod, just standing on the edge of a t-junction, and there didn't appear to be any more boxes connected to the camera. Does it have a built in recorder, or would he just have been using it to monitor speed and relying on his buddy to pull people over?

Fingers crossed

It is nigh on impossible to hold an LTI Laser with the all the necessary equipment for the video equipment and printer for more than 60 seconds due to the weight.
The Met does have this equipment but it is only used in the Camera Van, and is normally fired out of the rear, so if you weren`t stopped, you are safe.......

These are the 'New Prolasers' that ive been explaining about on here.
They are very compact and have a built in battery and are therefore a lot more user friendly.

They are not equipped with any recording equipment and if you werent stopped there and then, then you will be ok.

I will find out who it was when i go in later tonight and tell them that they are famous.

Great, thanks guys for the very quick responses!

Tony, it was at about 3.45 this afternoon - two of them - didn't see their car. The device looked very small, like a digital video camera (rectangluar shaped)

I can understand their choice of location, as it would have given a good view down the road where it changes from NSL down to 30, and I'm sure lots of people don't slow down that much, as the houses are set back from the road and behind hedges - doesn't mean I want a ticket though but I will slow down through there in future
