Not knowing how much the weight of an Ultima compares to BHP per ton and performance, I am sure someone on here can work it out. I ask because I notice a few have done some qtr mile times with BIG engines but only around high 11's or even 12 secs. (I know the factory did it in 9.9) so was that down to brute force or gearing or power to weight? (ie was it stripped out - carbon fibre body? )

My spyder weighs 850kg I notice the GTR is 990kg (factory figures) I can do a 12.2 sec qtr mile now with a ZZ4 355HO SMC with a 750 carb. With the same gbox how much more BHP would a 990kg car need to match a 850kg car? - is that an easy calculation?
Something to work out on a rainy afternoon!

The driver has a huge input to quarter mile times. Power to weight is only half the battle.
As a rule the higher the bhp output the higher the terminal speed.
Yet you will find some people will get quicker times with less power.
Figures obtained by journo's and the factory drivers/testers are often the result of merciless thrashing of the vehicle to get just one result.
I know of one guy who actually levered the disc pads away from the discs to reduce friction for the quarter mile!!
In your case the aerodynamics will start to have a big influence over 60/70 mph.
