Well a couple of weeks ago my 4.2 started running a tad rough, i went to the local tunning shop and he said that my inlet "o" rings are letting in air on one side, a quick call to tvr power for the parts, when they came i fitted them. the problem went straight away and the car was perfect.

over the last couple of days i have been driving the car as the weather was ok around here. yesterday it started out of the blue with the same fault.
its not like it got hot or i drove it for a longer time than i have done as i was only out in it an hour befor it started playing up.

do you think this could be another fault other than the o rings?
i am a bit lost as what to do now other than replace them again.

is there another fault that can cause them to go?

any help would be great.
cheers, james

well last time it was blacking up the spark plugs, over fueling on one side.
after i replaced the o rings this problem went.
yes its idle is rough and hesitates when under load.
could this be more than just the o ring seal's that is causing the problem?
i thought mabe the buterfly's could not be closing or sealing correctly. could this be possible?

I would suspect duff throttle pot or coil pack. Also check the loom going in to the TP.these can chafe on the bonnet.

did you replace the plugs?

If not, that could be your answer.

Could also bE HT leads or coil packs...

thanks mate, does seem like when i done the o rings i mite of moved/knocked the tp or throttle pot an thats why it worked for a short while.

an yes changed the plugs and leads when i first had the car as i was told they soon break down with the heat off the manufold so i thought best change them when i had the chance.

thanks for all your help guy's. i will look into it and keep you all up to date.
