Heine Gericke Armacor Range
Discussion
Heine Gericke have a new range of textile suits - using triple layer XCR goretex and Armacor (which i think is used bu Rukka as well). Well, the cheapest Armacor clad Rukka trousers i have seen are £600 odd
, vs the HG range - £330-£350, which is a BIT more reasonable
Question is - are the HG ones worth it over leather and a pair of waterproof overtrousers?? I need to upgrade the bottom half of my suit - currently using HG 'Jake' which was a cheap and cheerful set to get me going, not totally waterproof and i am riding all year round in nasty horrid weather!
Also, is it worth spending the extra for the Rukka version over the HG?!
Also, is there anything else out there better value? To me they seem to offer everthing, tougher than leather, completely waterproof and bound to be decent quality from HG.
I am only looking for trousers - currently using an HG 'Cruise' jacket and see no reason to change that as its been excellent...

I've got an Armocor Rukka jacket (Armadillo), and HG Armocor trousers. Both Gore-Tex XCR. Both very good quality. Any manufacturer using Gore-Tex has to agree to a five year warranty on the stuff which contains it, so if anything comes apart, you'll get it fixed or replaced. That's worth a bit of extra cash in itself.
The quality of the Rukka is a bit better - thicker textile and stronger stitching, but to be honest, the Rukka is almost overkill. I think it may just be able to take a bullet...
Get down to somewhere like J&S, to try the Rukka, then look at HG stuff. If you can live with the drop in quality (not much) then go HG. At the price it's certainly better value. If i need to get another textile outfit again, i'd go HG purely on the money issue.

Armacor is the stuff to have. I'll definitely buy my next textiles made from Armacor.
However worn my textiles get, every time I walk into a Rukka store I nearly faint at the prices. So the HG option looks interesting.
The HG suit doesn't have all the whizzy features of Rukka, but it's still Armacor and an excellent looking suit.
However, BMW do an Armacor suit, the Streetguard 2, which has all the Rukka features for the price of the HG suit. I've had BMW gear before and it's Rolls Royce quality, yet cheaper than Rukka. Worth checking out: www2.satzmedia-catalog.com/asp/_487/flash/pdfs/002...
