Sorry for the many questions, but didn't see the point in starting seperate threads.

The suspension on my 'ro is pretty squeaky. I know it's been fitted with an adjustable suspension upgrade and poly bush kit at Monkfish at the request of the previous owner (something I'm very thankful for as it handles like a dream). The squeaking/rubbing noise comes when the near side (front mostly) is compressed such as going over bumps, even small bumps etc. It's pretty loud...loud enough for me to post about it. My friend reckons that poly bushes normally squeak and it's probably nothing to worry about. It's been a lot worse since my car was sitting at Greens for a week and a half which is understandable and has settled slightly now. Doesn't matter if it's wet or dry.

Should I be worried?

Also, the Greens invoices state that the spare tyre no longer fits. Is this due to the AP racing break update, or the suspension? is this common? I currently have a spare tyre in the boot that I've been told doesn't fit, and a can of tyre weld. I've thought about trying to source a spare 18" OEM wheel, but doubt it'll fit in the boot resevoir. what do you guys do about it?

Thanks as always for you help.

Regarding the spare wheel bit, the spare won't clear the FRONT calipers but will just about squeeze over the rears.

So if you get a puncture in the front, you'll have to remove a rear wheel and move it onto the front and then use the 'skinny' spare on the rear.

I've upgraded to 19" alloys and had hoped to use one of my CV8 alloys as a spare but it won't fit in the boot!

Thanks Devil. Nice to know the spare isn't totally useless. Thanks for replying. I wouldn't mind upgrading to the spokey 19" VXR alloys myself. Much nicer looking than the stock CV8 18's.

Hi Mate,

I have coilovers and the RR pack from Monkfish. A couple of months after installation I started getting squeak noises from the front suspension, mainly when cold (engine and car) plus goign over speed bumps. I have spoken to Roger about it and he thinks it is the front anti roll bar poly bushes. My Vauxhall dealer wanted £150 ish to lube them !!

Will get mine lubed next time I have the pleasure of seeing Roger (as I hand over more cash no doubt . I am not worried about it to be honest, worse could happen is take the point off the anti roll bar, could always but hotchkis on later. Just a little embarassing going over the speedbumps and sounding like a old tired car (just as well my soundproofing helps until I open the window).

Cheers
Steven

Hi Steven,

Thanks for the reply. I might get the squeak checked out at a later date for peace of mind. £150 for some lubing is a bit excessive. I may hold out until I pop up to Monkfish for a service as that was where it was fitted, and I know they will know how to take care of my pride and joy.

Cheers.

Just had a thought about this. If you get a flat, then where the hell are you supposed to put the damaged stock wheel after you have taken it off? Looks like it's gonna have to be on the back seat, or rear passenger footwell? Checking for dog poo first of course Hope I don't get a flat with a car full of people then. Otherwise some poor soul will have to hold it.
