Anyone taken the above and driven round the Ring in the wet.
We are going Easter and my 993 is a bit of a handfull in the wet/ice(forecast is bad).
I know the Audi is not going to be as quick, but i want "safe" this weekend.
So anyone???

I am sure it will be fun, but a bit slow. I have only ever driven one in anger once (at Bedford) and it took a certain Justin Wilson (instructor at the time) to help me manage the terminal understeer.

Other than getting off the line, the standard car is not that great in the wet;
the ESP is quite intrusive and the standard Haldex doesn't really help.

But three simple mods ..... adding a performance Haldex controller, and putting the suspension bushes and rear ARB back to how they were before the early re-call, greatly cuts down the 'normal' TT under-steer and transforms the steering and handling.

I hope this thread does not turn into you know what rolleyessmile

Firstly drive even slower than you think you should be going! I can remember the first wet lap I ever did and boy was it slippy..

I'll keep an eye out for you as I'm there taking photos!! You should be able to spot me !!

The pics will be on www.nurpics.com

Yes mate i know how slippery it is.
Just trying to get a idea of how good/bad the quattro system is.
I doubt it will be open now anyway, too much bad weather on the way.
So just more time for food/drinks,walks and chillout timedrink

Brilliant weekend.
Audi performed faultlessly and although it wasnt capable of doing a very fast time,it was very stable in the icey/wet conditions.
Loads of cars were having trouble, sliding all over the place, but the TT just ploughed through and tracked a dead straight line.
The perfect wet Ring car.
Just needs a bit more power(re-map) and better brake fluid as i had a bit of fade.
