Hi guys, Some of you may remember Diane and I once owned a Midas Gold T350c?
Well we had that car over 4 years.Sold it recently to buy a narrow boat.Things are moving much to slow for me,so we decided to get back into TVR until we can get the boat.
We have now returned to the fold with what i can only describe as a near mint example of a 5 ltr Chim in Imperial Blue. And have now owned the car for one month exactly.
I recently took the car to work for the first time ,and just about everyone that came outside to see her said things like "Thats efin gorgious"..."love the colour" Etc etc, And i proceded to tell them all that she was over 10 years old, which took them all by surprize.
Now here is the bit that p*sses me off more than anything, and i wish people would just be pleased for me,but the comments start coming once they have been looking for a while, such as, "Bit of a stone chip there Dave"...."Shame the dealer did'nt replace that cracked number plate for you"....and "Not many more miles on those rear tyres mate". and "whats that mark on the passenger seat?" Is it just human nature to point out whats wrong with other peoples things?, as the car has thousands of bits that are right on it.
So does anyone have any handy tips to say back to these people?

F*** off works for me hehe

Seriously though I usually say something like 'You're getting desperate if all you can do is point out minor things like that' or 'Lets go and pick holes in your car then shall we'

Some people just like to pick holes to make themselves feel better. FFS I'd be more worried about owning a 10 year old car that didn't have a mark on it as I'd want to know why!!!
Glad your back into the TVR fold anyway!

Envy, thats all it is. Probably cos they're driving a mundane BMW, Ford or one of those awful French cars or their missus has refused to allow them to buy a proper car - or both!

Unfortunately some people are like that. You know you've got a good car, that's all that matters.

I had the same when I purchased my Tuscan (cry), people pointing out faults on a 6 month old car, it took them a lot of looking.

Don't let it bother you walk over to theirs a have fun pointing out faults, stonechips etc.

Alternatively a quick punch to the face will stop further nit picking.

What they're really saying is that "I'm a green eyed monster" and "I wish I could own one of those"

ive had the same thing with mine, on the way back from picking it up (mate gave me a lift) he was very happy to point out the reverse light went out when i moved in reverse "ooh you wanna get that sorted mate" he said looking a very odd green colour. and many others since with other comments, basicly its just envy and it actually brings a smile to my face how pathetic it actually is. ask them to show you their ultra fast super sexy sports car smile

Mine is covered in stone chips, the drivers set looks like Vanessa Feltz has been shaggin' in it the bolster is that knackered. But I love it, it sounds fantastic, goes like the clappers, is British and there's very little out there to touch it.

It's a TVR enjoy it. yes

The stone chip?? Oh yea, I got that doing 160mph with the roof off, it was worth it.

The crack in the number plate?? Not a problem, some bloody Ferrari was holding me up so I bumped him out of the way.

The mark on the passanger seat?? Dont even ask...but have you noticed the smile on the wifes face?biggrin

Come on Dave, youve got to be quicker with those smart arsed replies.
