Hi all,

I've just got a fancy graphics card for my pc, and so wanted to try some games. Have been playing COD4, dam those graphics are good (!) but my interest has always been F1 simlutors. I've been out of the gaming world a while now, so a quick check sees that Geoff Crammond hasn't released anything since Grand Prix 4 in 2002 - is that correct? Such a shame, his games were undeniably superb.

So, what is the current "must have" F1 game?!

Thanks all
Tony

You should also check out the Rfactor pistonheads league (see sticky)
We are racing the ring in E21 BMW's tomorrow.

Rfactor is very good, and you can download loads of add-ons to keep it interesting. Ive not tried the F1 yet, but it looks pretty good biggrin

There are a few rFactor F1 mods.

The definitive one is the CTDP 2005 one - http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=CTDP%2...

I also like the FS-One mod - http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=FSONE%... which can have a 2007 car pack added to it.

You of course get the BMW F1 cars from 2006/07 with the download for free

Then check out the Champ Car World Series - http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=2006%2...

Then for a bit of nostaglia

F1 1979 - http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Grand%...

F1 1988 - http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=F1%201...

Enjoy.

That's my favourite mod too - looks great, sounds great, and is a thrill to drive. Awesome!

Got to honest. Tried loads of F1 stuff over the years and nothing ever came close to Grand Prix Legends. Install all the updates and it still looks pretty sweet. Still fell that it gives the best ring experience there is.

A Good ring experience?.....Ohhh i see...

Check out GTR2 (10er! from anywhere and with GTL thrown in which is a must!!!)

F1 1989 and very recently a 2008 season which is pretty good, with dynamic weather and track is pretty tasty without TC.

GTR has lots of stuff, Prototypes etc as well as a host of other little treats which i would highly recommend. Check out www.virtualr.net for the latest.

Was waiting for that one...... got to second that one that GTR 2 looks good. Best looking ring as wellsmileHowever, for sucking you in and ninja hardcore difficulty it has to be GTL all the way. takes ages to learn but once you can lap without going on the grass. Sheer bliss. Anyway leave my 'ring fixation alone......

Hehe, Big fan of GTL, especially since this was in the pipeline http://www.virtualr.net/porsche-935-previews/(Look... like it will be in the barrier alot!!!)

Simbin Have just announced the first PC Based official version of the ring in their next game GTR Evolution which will also feature C6, Aston Martin in their first official outings as well as 600bhp varients of the RACE cars.

It all looks very good.
