Tech 9 British GT Lamborghini Gallardo's
Discussion
Press Release 17th March 2008
The eagerly awaited start to the British GT Championship 2008 kicks off next weekend at Oulton Park in Cheshire.
Local team Tech 9 Motorsport announce, surprisingly that instead of entering their usual Porsche machinery, a switch this season to Lamborghini, should see the team in action at the sharp end of the grid.
The team will field two Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 machines.
Ex European Ferrari Challenge Champion (and local driver) Oliver Morley, will partner the very quick and experienced Tom Ferrier in car number 8.
Car number 9 will be driven by the very experienced David Pinkney, previously a front runner in Porsche Carrera Cup and Touring cars for many years, joined by 2006 British GT GT3 Champion, Leo Machitsky.
Team principle Phil Hindley quotes ‘An exciting prospect lies ahead of us, not only a new car, but we have drafted in two new drivers in Oliver and David. I have known both of these guys for a number of years and I know that they have both the pace and experience to mount a Championship campaign.
It will be a tough challenge, as the cars have been delivered to us very late, so our normal pre-season preparation has not been to our usual standard, but initial impressions of the Lambo have been positive and I think that we should be able to mix it with the hoards of Ferraris……
I am pleased that Tom and Leo have continued with us this season, as last season was a tough one for us, but the spirit and drive of our crew is stronger than ever and will ensure that our current status as the most successful current entrant in British GT will continue to deliver the results that we strive to achieve’

Phil,
Fantastic news, it will be superb to see a couple more of these great machines in action.
Will you have both cars out at Oulton Park for the first two rounds ?
Also being as Mr Pinkney is driving for the team can we expect to see the Gallardo wearing a rather fetching shade of pink ??
