FIGHT!!! - Coulthaud to Kick the **** out of Massa.
Discussion
Not seen this mentioned today on PH - it really made my day when I heard Coulthaud so eloquently express his feelings about being punted out by Massa.
I'm guessing they may have edited or beeped it out of the replay on ITV this afternoon - I was watching the live show recorded on my Humax.

Hopefully as Massa has said he won't apologise, Coulthaud will stand by his promise. Then we can call him CoultHARD......

So, Coulthard turns in on Massa and it's Massas fault? Not quite sure I follow that one. If I was Massa I wouldn't be apologising.
Yeah thats the way I see it too. Massa got fully beside Coulthard on the brakes. Coulthard didn't expect it and turned in on him. I suspect Coulthard was tired (who wouldn't be!) and missed Massa's move.Volte said:

A little look in here "The Official Australian GP thread with spoilers" you have seen said discussion....virtually as it happened

I'd say it was 6 and half a dozen.
Tenner on DC by the way.
+1Tenner on DC by the way.
DC probably could'nt see Massa was alongside with the now even higher cockpit sides. Massa should have thought of that even though he did get a decent overlap. Racing incident.
Coulthards description of Massa as a "little b
d" was spot on in any case
speaking as a fan of dc I think if anything its at VERY best 50-50,
otherwise 100% dc's fault I am sorry to say.
Massa didn't leap from the sky!! he pulled along side, up the inside, you know the place an overtaking driver normaly WOULD be attacking from.
if the mirrors arn't for seeing things such as that.... what are they there for?
Massa did nothing wrong except try to race for a possition. this is what they do, this is the point of the sport.
As for dc's tirade, funny as it was I dont see it as justified and I think he will have some explaining to do, or at least he should have ( disripute etc)
great as it is to see the pc veil removed for a change in a drivers interview I think he might regret this one

[quote=jacobyte]Massa's front left wheel hit Coulthard's sidepod - therefore he was not alongside him.
yes thats because david drove in to it.
if a car is alongside , it is alongside, you cant just drive for the apex that you were hoping for, or intending to hit, because the other car is already ther ( along side) you have to adjust acordingly, ie give a car width, or at least a rumble strip plus a foot or two.

It was a tough one to call, first view we were given i would have said Massa had swung in to much. I'll have to try and find some other views to see who turned into who. And i don't think Coulthard should have backed off even though he said he could see him. Massa started off bad aswell on the first corner, to be honest it is racing and it does happen. I was just hoping Coulthard to get some points.
Before their incident, whilst Massa was trying to find a way 'round DC, I was reminded of Monaco '01 (IIRC). That was when DC, in what was clearly the fastest car on the circuit, got stuck behind the Walkinshaw of Enrique Bernoldi and spent more than half the race at a severely restricted pace.
On that occasion, Bernoldi might have conceded the position and in doing so helped his own race, but he was instructed not to do so. He was fully entitled to fight for position, although perhaps it was not the most...honourable thing to do.
In this case, DC was in the opposite position. I'd agree with DC that he, not Massa, had position. DC created his own problem, however, by holding up Massa for too long. He said that he had, "of course", been aware of Massa in his mirrors. "Of course", his team also would have been updating him by the second. As such, in order to protect himself, Coulthard should have been mindful that a frustrated Massa in a quick car was likely to force the issue.
