I've had a wee problem getting the Wedge to run properly using Megasquirt with Ford coil packs. I phoned the guy I bought the MS from and one of the things he recommended was to switch to resisted spark plugs. Don't know why and I forgot to ask him.

At the moment it's got NGK B7ECS in and the nearest I can find, on the NGK website, is BR7ES. Any thoughts on this subject anyone?

There's also a possibility it's blown some of the coil drivers as the MS got a bit hot. Bummer.confused

It's been raised before - I think TheNick from the Chim forum and 350Matt said his wedge would hardly run with out them..

Nick really delved into the NCK plug details on one post..

Sorry - just found the thread :

Hiya,
Yes you will have problems with your plugs as the 'in use' and 'wasted' sparks interfere with the system.
Problem is solved by using RESISTIVE plugs.
NGK BR7ES but you MUST ask for RESISTIVE. Oh and your gap must be set between 1.1mm and 1.2mm.
Should be fine then. Good luck.

I just ordered a set of BR 7ES .. about £15 for 8 delivered.. cheaper that the B7 ECS plugs but as the other post says - they don't use the flashy centre electrodes which are expensive.

Are they resistive or you using resistive plugs or leads.

Thanks
Leigh

Cheers for all the info.

Rev, Where did you get your BR7ES's from, as that seems a very good price?

I hope so - else I've wasted my money...

Just searched on Ebay for NGK BR 7ES and found a few suppliers and went for the more reliable one of the few shown.

Don't know if this helps or not but the Cosworth v6 uses platinum tipped plugs so they don't wear out so quickly.
