...when times were difficult for Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. in the mid 1990's they hatched a scheme to let these people build something in Latin America which would allow Sant'Agata to gain some much-needed income.

In the long run, selling the business to Audi was a far better idea, especially when you look at some of the abominations that this company built!

(there is some cool, Salsa n' Sand type music on this website tho' - or was a while back...)


It could have been worse - they could have been a big success and Lamborghini could have been saddled with them for the future - I think the people in Mexico / Brasil / Argentina / wherever they are have only built a few of these cars - if they'd been in Venezuala they might have done better, a neighbout who visited there last year says that, once you learn to 'not-see' the pictures of Chavez everywhere, you learn the joy of petrol that is almost given away and food that just tastes of sun.

Mind you, they even stayed on the island that the cocktail 'Margherita' is named after (I think), so they will have probably been very, very drunk...
