Hi Guys,
after suddenly becoming alot more involved in forums with work i have this year decided to see if anyone stays at the hotel we stay at for lemans weekend.
we stay in the ibis in alencon, and usually hang around in the pub dowstairs (usually looked after by Guillome)
Was just wondering if anyone stayed there also, i know vario-rob does as have seen and said hi to him a couple of times in the past 2 years.
But does anybody else.
Normally we are in skyline r34 red, nissan 350z blue and an almera GTI red.
Say hi if you do stay there.
I am the young lad who had the extremely long hair last time.

He does indeed, looking at the car in the profile I can’t work out which one of the regulars you are, are you with the owner of the Nismo’d 350Z? If so you boys have been staying there as long as us

Anyway we will be there again this year as any thought of going anywhere near a campsite was done away with ten years ago. Last year you might well have started a conversation with me but having driven the Guara there in the pissing rain I was not only deafened by the thing but generally miserable to boot.

Not long to go now

Edited to say

AH! I’ve just seen you are Young Phil!

Now listen young Jedi my first trip on my own was done in a Celica GT4 20 years ago with one of blokes I still go with, Clapham GT3 so make sure you loose your Le Mans cherry within the first hour and get your first fine, we did!!!

“Excuze me you have violated French traffic law”

I expect to hear you have given your first fine to the French plod upon my arrival!

Notice on one of your posts that you are ordering a GT-R rob, so are both my father and doug so there will be three of them at the ibis in 2009.
Paid the deposit on friday and we are number 25 on the list (marshalls), hopefully it will be here for lemans.

Thanks for reminding me, I need to withdraw that advert for the Guara as the thing I was after has now sold so in all probability she’ll be going again this year.

Actually the DTDC are taking part in the drivers parade this year through the city centre on the Friday evening so she’ll almost certainly be going again but she has got to have a front end suspension rebuild done, OH JOY!

So has your old chap fitted a gas tank to the 350? I seem to recall asking him what was planned for the car last June and he mentioned something, can’t think it’ll ever quite be on the same level as ‘That supra’ mind you!

Come on, step up to the plate and take your own, its not all about having the fastest, bravery comes into it as well.

Nest year might well be year of the Datsun but hopefully a certain R10 will have arrived by then as well

C'mon Rob we could show those poxy 911's who's boss in our Datsun brigade tongue out
The 350 has some twin turbos arriving from japan soon, and has had some exhaust reworking, huge 6 pot calipers with 355mm discs.
And also a new set of suspension is ready waiting to be fitted.
we run a high performance maintenance centre and specialist car showroom, so getting the work done has been easy, although the decat 993 sitting in front of me is looking rather tasty for lemans 2008 (insurance might be steep)
The R10 sounds like a good car but i am suprised you were not tempted by the v12 tdi, I know my dad was.
700lb ft of torque
eek
Anyway, i won't be coming in my own car, but i may be driving the 350z as the old man has foolishly got me as a second driver on it drivingyikes
Same people with you this year or are there a few changes, we have had one of our regulars drop out (Dickie) and has been replaced by Dougs son in law Trevor, but i cannot vouch for him as i have never met him.
Hopefully all will be well this year and perhaps we will keep dry.
Good to hear from you as always,
Andrew

My son and I usually manage to get a booking at the Ibis Alencon. This year I'm going solo but staying at the Ibis Falaise on Friday and Sunday nights, sleeping in the car in Parking Blanc on Saturday. R.
