In Sheffield today i saw what looked like a heavily modified 306.
It was certainly non-standard.
Turns out it has a 3.0 V6 at either end, both producing 225 bhp, non-charged.
A 450 bhp, 4wd Pug 306!

Dafter still, the 23 year-old owner plans to turbocharge both motors to give around 700 bhp.
Kin-eck!
eek

No, i didn't challenge him, it was parked up outside The Boardwalk music venue, where i was sorting some gigs out.
Although, given some decent/safe road space, i guess my M5 (507 bhp) would have been a good match for a lighter, 450 bhp 306 maybe?
If and when the guy does get it up to 700 bhp, i think he should, as you say, get it back more standard-looking.
By God would that then surprise a few supercar owners.
700 bhp? Tick.
4wd? Tick.
OMFG factor? Tick!

I have often wondered how easy it is to get 2 separate engines working together.
Surely there could be problems with 2 totally separate powerplants?

If you are interested, you may want to have a google of the "twini mini" coopers that John Copper dabbled with in the sixties.
Moke varients were also tried for the military, but poor ground clearance scuppered them

Cheers

I am still coming to terms with the thought of a 700 bhp Pug 306!

Out of interest, was it on the road? If so, then tecnically the car is illegal. There are several rules of manufacture that all road cars must adhere too; one of which being that the engine can only have a single common plane crank. Therefore, multiple crankshafts/engines are not permitted in the UK! IIRC of course.

However, it could explain how a 23yr old has 'insurance' on a car like that.... rolleyes

A few years back, when I had the Tuscan, I had an encounter with a very non-standard 306 on the Lincoln by-pass. He really wasn't going to let me get past! yikes

It's a bit stupid, if two engines is automatically illegal, yet, for example, a 250 bhp Bond Bug, a complete death trap, is legal!

Isn't it just! The uk; the land where you can have a road legal sofa, but not two engines laugh

As far as im aware, there are just two main restrictions in the UK; one being the single engine rule, the other that the road wheels must not protrude further than the wheelarch above it...

A mate of mine has a 247 bhp Bond Bug. It is easily the most dangerous car i have ever driven.
