Set to record ... Then I can quickly skip to the Elise SC biggrin Sorry, but a couple of weeks ago I watched the entire programme for the first drive of the Skyline GTR and I couldn't stand the other features that preceded ... or the presenters for that matter!

To be fair they should get Chris from Autotrader on there - A much more interesting and knowledgable presenter compared to some of the others.

Hmmm he really sort of bagged it.

He complained about the diff spinning the inside wheel, the "flat spot" in the power, through to ergonomics...

anyone here that's driven the SC and saw this want to comment?

I've gotta say I agree with Jason about the seating position in the Elise - it's dreadful. I modified mine though with a steering wheel spacer and it's fine now yes, although I can't reach anything on the dashboard, and I can only just reach the gearstick smile Doesn't matter though - it's miles ahead of any other car on the market for driving enjoyment and I'm never selling mine smile

i think he prefers the Saab..........

That is the third review i have watched on the SC and the previous two have had nothing but unadulated praise for it. He obvioisly doesnt like Lotus so why have him drive one of their cars. Its s like him that cost people jobs.

The SC is barely any different to the previous S2's other than in the power plant. So why all of a sudden have Fifth Gear decided to slate the Lotus interior and ergonomics?

Maybe the MY08 dash gives a false sense of quality so that newbies think the seat should be more adjustable etc?

Most other reviws have praised the power delivery and torque of the motor - 5th Gear is one of the first to question it AFAIK. Also it isn't 80HP more it is more like 20 more... the SC is more about torque than HP over a Elise R.

Pretty wierd that in one point of the show they are harping on about "supporting British car manufacturers" and then they drop this ste review on Lotus... f***ing bunch of muppets!

Yup, it's quite obvious he doesn't like Lotus full stop. IMHO seating position is one of the very best I've ever experienced.

Rob, you've driven an S1 right? Did you find that the same, maybe I'm a freak but I find the driving position perfect and can reach everything although the stereo can be a stretch.

As for the review, I just don't think it told us anything. What's it like on a road? How many people spend their live's on a racetrack? Top gear pees me off for the same reason.

I can reach everything, even the pax window, without taking my eyes off the road, you can't complain at that for ergonomics.

What a cock, I gave him the benifit of the doubt this series but I
should have stuck to my instincts. Far too biased, most other reviews
on the program are give and take.

Jason Plato - WHAT AN ABSOLUTE C*CK - not only has he got the power increase all wrong, he has really not got it has he?!

I took the SC for a test drive yesterday and couldn't fault it (rose tinted glasses maybe) but it is a great car and a big step forward in quality etc.

I don't often rise to stuff on TV but whay a pri*k.

Sorry rant over.
