service indicator

Quick query please. When I turn the ignition key in my 535D "service" appears on one of the screens with the figure 10000 below. I`ve left my service book at another house so can`t look it up but does this mean that it needs a service in 10000 miles or does it indicate that it needs a service now?

Car was serviced just under a year ago and has covered about 11000 miles since.

Goto the main menu and push the idrive button and you should be able to find the menu that lists the miles to go for roughly 8 different CBS items.
