Changing the chip
Discussion
Currently I have a Mark Adams Tornado chip in my 4ltr Chimaera and I'm wondering what I need to do and look out for if I were to put it back to standard?
The cam was changed for a Piper cam and I was advised the chip would compliment this, however, although I get moe power with increased revs at top end, I would like to get a smoother run at lower RPM.
Reason for this is I am selling the car and am keen to get it back to original as possible.
Any advice?

Since the car has an uprated cam etc is it worth booking in for a tuning session with Mark Adams? If i remember right he had some association with Austec but i could be mistaken.
I think going back to a standard 'fuel map' when the Cam is different may not solve your problems.
Also what spec is the cam? is it setup to give better top end performance at the sacrifice of low down?

You'd need to remove the chip AND the chip carrier - the MA chip is encrypted (or something) and requires the special chip carrier to work. Standard chip will plug straight into the chip socket on the ECU PCB. Be very very careful and don't touch the pins with your fingers.
As other poster says, the original chip may not be designed to work with the Piper cam - but then again it's unlikely to be far out, just maybe not optimal I'd have thought.
