Hi Guys

A mate has just got himself a new R6 - so is selling off his Thundercat, willing to sell it to me cheaper than he would advertise since he knows Im bikeless right now. He says he would sell for £1800 but will sell to me for £1300. Don't know much about it, know it's on a private plate, has done about 30k, and it's red. Only know so little because when he was telling me this I was a tad blootered - he owns a cab company - he was driving. Just said let me know what you want to do about the bike as I staggered out of his motor. Been reading a bit on web about them, seem similar to the Fazer I once owned, perhaps a bit sportier. Can I ask any opinions from owners here,i.e what you like/dislike etc etc. Wasn't looking at getting another bike right now, but if Im getting a good deal then I could be tempted.

Any replys appreciated.

Cheers
Barry.

I had one for a year and loved it. I test rode my brother's 600 fazer for a few miles and as far as I could tell they were more or less the same except that the fazer is naked (obviously), slower (although there's a gap of a few years between the two and a few years have gone by so the thundercat will feel slow these days) and softer. I'd have the thundercat any day of the week... especially at that price. It's not a modern 600 by any stretch though as it's a bit softer but it's also a lot roomier and more comfortable.

yes

Fast, comfortable and a great road bike out of the crate..

It may not have the kudos of the latest 600 micro-bikes but believe me on A n B roads it wont be left behind by any of em...

This is taking nothing away from the latest 600 superbikes but they have been on the quest of headline bhp figures for a while, pushing the power further up the rev range..
Thundercats & ZZR's etc have loads of midrange and make 'em great road bikes.
