Track day database?
Discussion
My apologies if this is a repost, I've searched but couldn't find anything.
My question is this:
I've started going on track days this year, and I was wondering if there was a central database of what was on. For example, you might book a day at snett with MSV, but then it turns out that there's one by bookatrack later that week that's better, I don't know all the organisers so I don't know what I'm missing.
Is there (Or could we have a wiki on this forum) a list of what trackdays are happening that we/organisers can add to. I know there's the who's on what wiki, but that's not quite what I mean.
Something like:
MARCH
16th, Cadwell, Open pit lane, Goldtrack, £120, Cars
20th, Oulton, sessions, MSV, £130, Motorbikes
20th, Snetterton, Sessions, MSV, £135, Cars
21st, Brands, open pit lane, bookatrack, £140, Cars
etc,etc
I think it'd be nice to have an at-a-glance directory of when we can go on what track. It'd be a useful resource for us track-day goers, and a bit of free advertising for the organisers. Surely that's win-win?
What are people's thought on this?
Dan.
(I'll pop this in website feedback too)

I liked openpitlane but while there are lots of dates listed its difficult to find a day that's good to go to; e.g. noise limit at least 102dB + still spaces available + open pit lane
which is why I wrote my track day calendar site at http://www.circuitjunkie.net/calendar - it doesn't have every organiser on it yet but am getting there (Focused Events should be on within the next day or so)

Nice. But it would be much more helpful if the real organiser was shown instead of trackdays.co.uk.which is why I wrote my track day calendar site at http://www.circuitjunkie.net/calendar - it doesn't have every organiser on it yet but am getting there (Focused Events should be on within the next day or so)

I completely agree! As I add more feeds this 'de-duping' [to remove/reduce reseller days and show the event by original organiser instead] will come in - just gotta build a reliable way of doing it.I think you're right. ISTR getting an email from them offereing to sell our days.

I have found that MotorsportAds.co.uk provide an excellent diary of events.
