Tuscan to Saggy - should I ?
Discussion
Now I know that it will fit in my garage, the next question is should I make the leap Tuscan to Saggy.
I have a most excellent last of the MK1 Tuscans, in Titanium 54 plate and in mint condition (having taken 6 months to find it) It drives like a dream, no probs.
Obvioulsy it will cost to move to a Saggy, just wondered if those who have made the move think the difference is worth it ? and is the any thing to whatch out for on saggies when buying
Cheers

I moved from a 54 plate MKII S to a Sag last August.
I loved the Tuscan which I bought and spec'ed from new. However the Sag is just so unbelievable - it's looks will always get attention (especially in Arancio Orange!) and the drive just feels so much more assured.
I have absolutely no regrets and can't help smiling every time I open the garage door.

The wife is really not keen on me having Orange or any loud colour !! However I quite like the idea, orange , yellow, flip, reds blacks, green - in fact I like them all !!

Only driven a Tuscan once (S Spec) and never driven a Sag, but given the prices of Sag's compared to T350's, personaly I'd go down the T350 red rose route (they're rare but definately out there for sale). I don't believe the performance differnce between a Sag and T350 RR is such that it warrants the £10-£15k premium in price for the Sag of the same age and to be fair the T350 is a better looking car than the Sag - beauty I know is in the eye of the beholder, but for my liking the Sag is just too fussy in its design - all IMHO.

I would have to agree in all honesty that the T350 has prettier lines than a Sag, however, the extra width of the rear track on the Sag gives it a more meaty stance. I also love the bulge on the drivers side of the roof
I moved from a Mk1 Tuscan RR to a Sag. No regrets whatsoever - the Tuscan was 'nervous' to say the least, even with Gaz Gold upgrade. Definite possibility that I would have ended up doing some serious damage to myself and the car.
The Sag on the other hand is far more sure footed and composed (also more compact than the Tusc) It handles beautifully and sounds fantastic. The Tusc actually felt a faster car until I changed the diff on the Sag to 3.73

Never driven a tuscan but Having come from a griff to a sag, the most noticeable thing for me is the ability to be able push on hard in the sag even in the wet,It always feels extremely composed, recently had a ride drive day on a very wet day and was amazed how hard the instructor had me pushing the car without any brown trouser moments whatsoever,I really believe a properly set up sag is one of the best handling cars out there.
had a tusc s mk2 06 plate, loved every bit of it till i thought i'd just try a sag, once driven the tusc did'nt compare, from looks to handling to the whole feel of it. the tusc always felt slightly twichy to me and the sag is just so planted, even when she does let go its so managable, lovely slides. sag all the way.
I actually went the other way and now have a mk2 tuscan. My main reason was wanting a convertible. A bonnet that didn't wobble at high speed was another and better ground clearance but that was about it. Other than that I'd have put up with those things if only TVR had cut out the slashes in the bodywork. I couldn't quite get over having them filled in (I ordered my car based on the prototype - the best looking car I had ever seen). So the Tuscan kept most of the stuff I loved about the Sag but gave me a convertible version that I didn't want to modify.
I will confirm though that the Sagaris handling is superb. I remember having a ball on a soaking wet nurburgring, whereas my brother frightened himself trying to keep up in his 996 porker turbo (that 4wd remember!). Luckily for me the later tuscans benefitted from the Sagaris suspension development, getting 255 tyres front and rear and the bilstein shocks etc. they lacked was the wide track so and the extra lowness but they are less nervous. As a result I have no regrets about the swap. I just wished Tuscan prices were as firm as Sag ones at the moment!

Agree with the handling, xept I have a chim as well as the Sag....driven umpteen tuscans and can confirm that the Sag isnt as nervous. Feels so planted, roundabouts are fun

Best thing (as with all TVRs) is to go and try one, they are not for everyone as the Pits has confirmed.

IMHO not qualified to comment then!Opinions are fine, but if you have not driven a Sag and only driven a Tuscan once then im afraid you have no idea bar an indicative price reason.
By the way the 350 looks nice.
