Just got her back tonight after a remap and short induction kit fitted by joolz at TCS. So after a short blast i'm impressed already. It revs much more cleanly all the way through the rev range, with a much more linear power delivery and i'm sure the engine sounds less harsh if that's possible, plus i love the look of the new intake pipes!
Anyway, she made 398bhp & 350ft/lbs (355bhp before), which if you take into account the damp conditions in Scotand, must be an easy 400bhp from the more dense fuel/air mix
More importantly... it goes like stink!
But there's more.. even better than the engine improvements, was the suspension fettling... it drives like a proper car now, much more compliant, consequently a vast improvement in ride quality. So even though the Gaz Golds leaked after only a few months and had to be repaired, they seem to be doing a proper job now thanks to Joolz

Errr, i wish i could say the drive back was fantastic, but i took the lazy option and paid for it to be transported to and from Aberdeen, not much more money and saved me using up my holidays.

I can't quite get my head around making a car better to drive, but then at the first opportunity, putting it on the back of a trailer, unless you're using it for racing or something.so why do i feel guilty...
I don't doubt for a second that it makes sense, but in my twisted head, I struggle to see it

Congrats on the figures by the way

That said, that is quite a jaunt, and you've got to endure a lift there & back or a train journey or two to drop it off....... I can half see the logic in it

I know what you're saying Russell but it made good sense to me .. I regularly see cars coming in on transporters or trailers because the owners live a long way away and have important jobs / heavy timetables etc etc. It's always nice to meet oners face to face of course and that's one of the great things about my job : meeting TVR enthusiasts , but I fully understand that not everybody has the luxury of being able to take a day off work to collect a car. It would have been a VERY long day to come from Aberdeen and then drive all the way back especially as the first part of the journey may have been on public transport :shudder:

Yeh.. looking at it, my first thought was.....I drive mine at every opportunity...... but then again, given the thought of having a lift off my dad for that kind of distance or having to knock a couple of days off work, I can see why people do it
Cerbdog, out of interest, is yours a std exhaust or sports, and what situation are you in with the cats ?

I really don't like public transport

and it would have been a very long day too. Plus my inurance has just gone down from a quoted £900 to £350 with A plan, but i do have restricted mileage, so i'll be saving that for the summer (those two days in September!!)Standard exhaust, cats removed, non-linked bypass tubes. Some rather pleasant aural effects
