Can I Add a multi changer to My 123d?

I have 3door hatch 123d Msport, with DVD nav and single slot CD in the front. Is it possible to add a cd changer to it, and if so how difficult is it? will it work through i-drive if so?

Alternatively, is there a way of showing your i-pod diplay, or similar on you sat nav screen? I have been making MP3 cds, but they tend to be very hit and miss, and terribly slow to read and change track.

Any help greatfully appreciated.

I think if you don't have the CD prep kit then it'll be a pain to add a cd changer, but i believe there is an ipod kit available to display your ipod menus on your nav screen, if you have the USB/aux and not just aux. I think.

You should be able to get the ipod menu through the Sat Nav screen.

I had the my E92 335d upgraded in the same way but it does involve a software change and the dealer ended up keeping the car for 3 days as it kept aborting. (They did give me a courtesy car)
They eventually found that the software on the car was a more recent version than they had available and they had to download the up-to-date version from Munich in order to complete the installation.
Cost circa £300 in total, parts and labour.

Far more convenient though than a CD changer and I'm glad I had it done.

The DVD nav has a MOST-bus connector, which is the technical basis for installing BMW's MOST-connected CD changer to the car. Thus, it shall not be too laborious. You should then have the same setup like a factory installed one.

With the other models if you have Professional Radio then the wiring is already there.

Not sure about the 1 Series though.
