Seeing as there are a few of us from Yorkshire travelling down to Kent on Wednesday 11th I thought it might be an idea to see who's going, where we are staying and what time we are all setting off.

I am staying at Travelodge Ashford, Eureka Leisure Park, Rutherford Road, Ashford TN25 4BN and hopefully getting there early enough to go into ashford for a few beers and a bite to eat.

Here are the people that I know about, please add or edit as required smile

WED 11th:

burriana + StuB (BMW850 or F348) - Ashford Travel Lodge - leaving Yorks provisionally early afternoon

Greensleeves (F348) - Ashford Travel Lodge - leaving Yorks approx 6pm
Black Cab - Ashford Travel Lodge- leaving Yorks approx 6pm

Buttmonkey (Testarossa)
Sarbs (Audi R8)
Will (997 Turbo)

I'm working on a plan +/- convoy. Yes, I know it's late to get started.

Probably going down late late Weds, for Thurs early early ferry. Left at 00:00 last time, got to LeMans ~3pm.

Convoy currently is Audi S4, Griffith 500, BMWZcoupe and me.

I saw a Mitsibishi Evo 8 last year in full LeMans stickerage, pulled over by the cops on the Northants M1.......at 2am.

We have a party of 5 cars and now have some firm plans if anyone fancies tagging along.

We're meeting at Redhouse Interchange (top of the A1M at the A638 flyover) and planning to leave there at 5pm on the Wednesday night. Planned route being A1, A14, M11, M25 and then onto the M20. We're not naive enough to expect no traffic but reccon we could do this in three hours, all stopping at the Ashford Ritz. (Trevelodge)

If the consensus is that this is too early, we could go later in order to produce a larger convoy but we reconned that if we left at 6 and then got stuck in traffic, it could be after 10pm when we arrived in Ashford, eliminating an opportunity for a beer.

Those who haven't planned anything yet, please note that all the camping at LeMans is now sold out according to the ACO web site so it looks like contacting E36Guy at White Rabbit Racing

mostly lads from our Motor Club, and we're hoping to team up with BlackCab and his crowd if we can sort out a suitable time.

Mint Paul,

We also have a theme that you may wish to be involved in. I'm not going to divulge it on her and spoil the surprise but I'm sure TEAM *** BULL would be of interest to you.

We need another meet at the bikers cafe!

I'm sure Al (Byriani) will be interested and tag along now we seem to be getting the Yorkshire Posse together. Millband, what are you doing this year?

Me? No theme if that's what you mean, in fact no stickers planned at all at the moment... Did wonder about a homage to the Porsche 968CS with "turbo" down the sides in Carrera script and 698CC on the back. Not sure it'd work on a two-tone car though, and I'm also pretty sure that only someone who is both a Porsche AND a Smart geek would get it biggrin

My trip was originally going to be 3 of us in two cars this year, but now it looks like it's just me on my lonesome so I'd love to tag along for some of the drive down smile I think I should be able to the make the meeting point by 5pm.

I'm going to be about 1 hour ahead of you on the Autoroute on Thursday 'cos I'm on the 7am Speedferry. I'm camping at Beausejour but not with WRR.

Be more fun if we could get a decent group together, although I would like to get down to Ashford in time to get some practice beers in.

oh, and last I heard "byriani" was a curry, not a beach! smile

Do you reckon that the mainly 2-lane A1 will be any quicker than the 3-lane M1 Dave? I know it's shorter and more interesting, never know whether the M1 gains time with being 3-lanes though. Strangely I never consider the A1 for going down south but usually remember it when I come back silly

I never use the M1 unless I'm going to West London, Heathrow etc. There's hardly ever a time when there's no delays and at the minute you're losing about 15 minutes with the roadworks at Luton so that makes it worserer.

A1 is absolutely sound, occasionally a pair of gay lorry drivers who insist on being together but I much prefer it.

I will not go to Manchester down the M62 either. Prefer to plod over Woodhead rather than risk it with the lemmings on the motorway.

I'm taking the Weds off work and will prob aim to leave the greater ChesVegas area between 1 - 3pm I guess. As usual no ferries or hotels booked yet.

I'll be heading M1 and either staying at my Mums in Hemel Hempstead or ploughing onto Ashford to crash there. Early Thurs ferry I reckon.

Be good to have you along - if you end up at Ashford Travel Lodge then our "Race? ... What Race?" crew meet there at 7am and we're on the 09.00 tunnel crossing.

Looks like a good convoy boys. See you down there!

I'll be doing a WRR pre- Le Mans meet in Yorkshire before we go. Not sure what date yet but we've got quite a few from Yorks coming down. Clearly non WRR campers will be welcome as well!

Nice touch having a regional get-together yes

Why don't you bolt it on to one of our monthly pub meets? Good car parking, usually plenty of room in the pub and quite a few Le Mans goers:
