I understand the "No Naming & Shaming" Policy, but is it OK to "Out" people that hide behind pseudonyms usually insulting others that openly declare their true identity????
'Cos I know of a few I'd like to "out" biggrin

Can't see the problem in that.

If it's condoned by the mods, then why don't we all register twice and do the flaming under the second username.

why should we out people, some people like to keep their real identities hidden, it stops incidents like the rafdug situation a couple of years ago and sometimes it easier to say what you really feel. I dont think we should be quite so serious on here sometimes, after all its supposed to be a light-hearted website.

I think you'll find the rule of posting 2.1 covers

"Invasion of another's privacy,"

So it's a definite nono

OK, rules understood, and i stand corrected.

However, if a user deliberately and intentionally exposes the identity of another, should he not automatically lose the right to hide his own identity?

Not being difficult - just debating..

If you believe that someone has multiple profiles, then it would help to report it to the mods, using the Report link on the top right of the post - as it breaks the PH Ts & Cs, and appropriate action can be taken.

Lets not get into a debate leave that for another thread, lets just accept that the Rules were introduced for good reason. smile

The best way to stop people having fake sign in names is to stop people using web based email address'. Lots of other forums do it, to stop wasters. Use the email address given by your ISP or don't bother.
