OK then, let's start an argument. I say that anyone who owns an Elise is a gaylord. No, hang on a minute, what about the VX220 is the best car ever made and far better than the Elise? Wait, maybe not, let's not go there with that one. Help me out here!

OK then anyone with a blue sportsracer and a stage 2 exhaust is a gaylord!

unfortunately this argument is flawed.

being the lord of the gays would suggest one ruling, supremely gay person, to which the others are subordinate. Therefore there can only be one true gaylord, whereas there must be quite a few blue sportsracer owners with stage 2 exhaust out there.

Unless you meant a gay member of the house of lords but I as I'm still waiting for my knighthood i think we can rule that one out too.

However, as my stage 2 exhaust is yet to be fitted, I will update the forum on any dramatic change in gayness if this happens. My first order as gaylord will be to instruct the worlds gays to gay up Cino at every opportunity, without mercy.

Congrats - I don't regret the move from TVR to Lotus - hope you don't either? I know of one other blus sports racer which also happens to have the same conversion as mine - get yourself over to Silverstone Performance and get the job done properly rather than just strapping a louder exhaust on. wink

Actually I'm planning to keep the Trev. Time will tell if that's such a good idea long term but the plan is to begin the british sports car collection. We make such great performance cars in the UK it's a mystery to me why the german stuff is so popular over here.

The TVR is a much better car than most people are led to believe. They deserved better than their fate. After Lotus they were the most dedicated to the performance through lightweight philosophy but never marketed themselves very well I fear.

But I have a love for Lotus cars that even owning a TVR didn't quite satisfy. This is my 4th Lotus and it's good to be back in the marque I feel most comfortable in.

First things first. There's enough fun in here already, so lets not over-egg it eh wink

Secondly, seriously consider ditching the idea of the Stage II and look into 2bular exhausts. The quality is far better than the OEM kit, which WILL fall apart 12 months and 1 day after you buy it.

is that what silverstone performance are offering?

a friend has had a stage 2 on his exige and it hasn't fallen apart yet after 3 or so years so hopefully I'll get lucky like him.

at some point I would be interested in a mild induction/exhaust combo with a bit of rolling road work but I'm trying strongly to resist the tuning disease for the moment.

Why rely on being lucky when you can get a seriously quality bit of kit from the off?

Hmmm, does not necessarily imply that there is only one lord - the definition I found is "one having power and authority over others". There could be several lords; how many blue sportsracers with stage 2 exhausts are there out there? Can't be that many. You mention that should your omnipotent gayness take your rightful place on the pink throne, you will order me to be gayed up without mercy; you are assuming that this is a bad thing from my perspective. It may or may not be... wink (ooh er, missus) lick

hehe

Quality!

You just don't get threads like this on the porsche or ferrari forum!

I can only add, Cino, that if do find that you like being on gayed up by all the worlds gays without mercy, that would pretty much make you supremely gay and I'd have to hand over my pink throne without delay, making you, despite the lack of stage 2 piped sportsracer, the gayest of all the gaylords! QED.

Now, I think that some of the kind contributors were actually trying to be helpful with some exhaust advice. Which makes do my knowledgeable fellow lotus fans recommend? 2bular has already been mentioned. Any thoughts on Larini, quicksilver et al?

And has anyone found any more power on the dyno after a zorst/filter/remap combo? If so I'd love to know how much.

Yes, they're the dog's very own bks! You wouldn't be disappointed.

You'll not gain any significant power from any of those I'm afraid. I've heard good things about a remap on 'yotas but its drivability that's improved rather than outright power.

Now stop being so gay, stop asking questions and go out and drive the F'ing thing! blah
