Griff values post modifications
Discussion
Provided the modifications are sensible then they tend to increase the values.
Just don't expect to get back as much as you spend on the modifications. You're doing it to get the car just the way YOU want it.
Most people tend to take care of the basics before spending extra on modifications. So it can be a sign of a well cared for car.

Hi, good luck on finding a nice griff, you wont be dissapointed, they are cracking cars. I think its all down to personal taste really. Some people like all the mods and some just like a factory standard car left alone. Ihave a 500 and am thinking of getting the sp 12 wheels from silverstone performance as i think they look ten times better than the estorils but thats just my opinion. If theres something you like then go for it afterall its your car and then it will have your individual touch on it.

Thanks guys. I have the man pulling his hair out looking for the 'perfect' Griff. Seems there are not many with dark (blue or black) leather interiors and power steering (at the right money - ie: not £18k plus!)
Him indoors has mentioned better cooling, Leven(?) bits & bobs, and heat sheilding as good ideas. I'm not after loads of power as 5L Griff has enough for me (at the moment anyway!)
Ta,

When i was looking for a car, for me there was modifications wich i wanted to avoid. I wanted original wood dashboard, as it is not really cheap to get back to one, so for me those steel/alloy/carbon stuff was clearly a big minus.
I also wanted orginal wheels;, as i plan to keep the Griffith already a bit in a "classic car" mind, and to find original wheels will probably be very compliacted soon,i ve been lucky about that as the one i i bought had after market wheels on it since for a few years, but the owner had still the original; and in perfect condition as they had not been much used.
I would have also avoid engine modification, exept a "simple" rebuilt.

Hi, newbie MrsDTC here.
I'm going to be getting a Griff 500 this year (for my 40th!) and my other half has been looking at all sorts of upgrades for the car (already, LOL).
I am wondering if upgrades increase or decrease the value of Griffs?
Cheers,
MrsDTC
There really are dozens and dozens of modifications out there for the Griff; some considered worthwhile, some not. Griff's being sought after though remain pretty much standard. If ever you do make changes, and it's a component swap, keep the original (unless it's totally fugged of course).I'm going to be getting a Griff 500 this year (for my 40th!) and my other half has been looking at all sorts of upgrades for the car (already, LOL).

Hopefully you and your 'old man' will be along for this years Growl eh?!

one thing that puzzled me were the amount of resprays TVRs get ... on most makes, a respray normally spells trouble but now I know better .. BAU for most Griff from ends.
re mods, I prefer the original look. I will leave the wheels, engine, etc as standard. Suspension & breathing (K&N, induction kit, etc) are the only mods I will do.

Yes, were are already booked for the Growl :-) If we don't have the car by then it may be a good spot to find one!
A few slightly modded ones about if you want a run out

To the OP, I've just spent about £5k on mods and I don't care if I get a penny back for it as mine's a keeper
Sensible mods should get you some of the money back, but it's down to the potential buyer if they like what you've done or not. As TVR's are more individual as standard it's less of an issue than with other cars IMO.MrsDTC said:
