I have read a few different articles on what fuel is required to run a Chimaera? Many have said that it is essential to use a higher octane fuel such as 97/98ron rather than a standard 95ron? Is this an essential, as in the car requires this to run properly or an essential in that any gain to be had from the fuel is worth it?

Cheers James

Years ago I did do some mpg checks and I found between unleaded and Optimax (V Power). I couldn't detect any power advantage but I was sure there was an MPG improvement. The results actually showed that V Power was cheaper mile for mile.

V Power has the added advantage of being the only fuel I've found that keeps the stepper motor clean

V Power is the preferred fuel i use at least 98ron i would only use 95ron unleaded in an extreme emergency with an additional octane booster just to get me home if i ever got caught short!

I have to admit that i found that with previous cars that a gain in MPG can be had. So its only a case of gains in mpg rather than the engine requiring it for proper operation?
