A word of warning....
Discussion
A couple of weekends ago i got the Cerbie out of the garage, had her sitting there warming up on tick over. I went indoors just to get the bucket and sponge to give her a wash, - done many times, came out and could smell a very strong amount of petrol. I immediately opened the bonnet, only to be met by a jet of petrol coming from the middle of the petrol pipe, spraying all over the manifold!!! Luckily the engine hadn't got hot enough to ignite the petrol, but it was a VERY close call.
I know this has been brought up before on here, but i check all things -that i can see! - and this to the eye looked absolutely fine, but it was only once i actually removed the pipe in question that when it was bent the evidence was there, with it being perished all the way up, but, as i say this was not visible when it was on the car, and looked totally fine. So, it is probably worth giving all these pipes a thorough check and change if you really don't know how long ago they were done.

Thanks for the concern!! but i live in the middle of no-where, with my own forest, and about a mile for the nearest road/civilisation!! Its great no-one even knows i am there...try giving directions to people...nightmare!! And as regards handbrake, just had a new cable and it all sorted, so that is one of the things that does WORK a treat!!

Hi ya Chris.... Leaving the motor running on it's own, I'd be more worried about the oil pressure spring failing.
I believe you're selling... What are you getting next ?
Hi Russell, Definately not selling, not sure where you heard that from, Love her to bits, best toy i ever brought!!...and most expensive to buy and run!!!!!I believe you're selling... What are you getting next ?
are you going to fighting torque this year? we are hoping to, and i must be mad 'cos i am going to let Lynn have a go in it

Whats more worrying than anything to do with the TVR is that i am going into hospital for and op on Tuesday, won't be able to drive for a while, but Lynn has offered to drive me around in the TVR for the time....scarey!!! And even more scarey i have shannon looking after me for two weeks whilst she is off school!!

P.S hope you and all your family are well, and your Dad isn't drinking too much!!!!

Hi Chris , same thing happened to me two weeks ago.Shat myself! Just put the cooling system back together after fitting a new radiator , stainless cooler pipes and hoses, checking for water leaks when, Hey Presto, a lovely fine mist of unleaded spraying across the engine ! Was it the drivers side pipe that goes from under the water header tank to front of engine ? If so i got one made up in stainless braided for about £30 . But be careful when fitting i nearly set fire to the car ! Didnt realise one end was touching the live battery term and the other end was touching the engine .,Hey Presto again big sparks and smoke. Thought a genie was going to appear and grant me three wishes but no such luck !!!! Next time i'll disconnect battery. SVM
Hi Silvervanman, How odd, this happened only a matter of a couple of weeks after i had a new radiator fitted!!!??!! Maybe as our cars are at the 'same' state if anything more goes wrong with yours could you let me know??!! Just so i have some advance warning!! As it happens i managed to do a 'quick fix' just to stop it spraying out, and the car is going in tomorrow to have the fuel line totally replaced, -better to be safe than sorry!! Thanks again though, and remember to keep me informed!! Chris
