Just wondering why the above site is so quite, you guys don't use it a lot, just wondering why, seeing as it's a bit of a dedicated site for us owners.

I hoped it would get used more for debating stuff, it seems that owners use it just as an exchange of technical information. There used to be lots of proper technical discussins/arguments on PH but not now. It's all got a bit boring.

I visit it every day to have a look, but don't often start a new thread. To me its the perfect place for what it says in the title, "Noble parts" and the more info we put there the better source of info it will become.

I maybe off to live in OZ next August (taking car) so this kind of info would be key for me.

So why don't people use the site rather that pistonheads, there are sections for most threads, and if there's not, then I'm sure one can be created.
It would be great to have a dedicated site for Noble owners that gets used on a regular basis.

I think most of the discussions have been had already as well.

Don't give up on it though it's a valuable resource :-)

NobleParts is really about parts as bondy says, but also as a private forum we have different naming and shaming rules wink

Shame is with the number of advert clicks it doesn't really pay for itself. Miles off that in fact. Maybe I'll start selling hats or sell to a publishing house hehe. I wish!

Perhaps that's the problem, people only using it for parts information, it has a number of sections for other discussions, so we should start using it for just that.
Indeed, this thread could be being discussed on there instead of here.
If people are worried that non-owners will be prevented from joining in any more, then I am sure exceptions can be made.

Who we let on which parts of the site has always been a question. It was all set up for non owners, with permissions etc but how do you vet people? I get about 5-10 spam bots trying to register a day so just opening it up won't work (currently).

I'm happy to go with what people think. I'll set up a poll on the site later and we can all vote.

If you open it up to everyone you might as well stick with Pistonheads.
Why can't we keep certain sections to just owners, and general sections to all, just so future owners can browse and ask questions.

If it bothers people that much, then I'm sure a name change will not be difficult.
At the end of the day if people use it more often, and not just for parts info. then that is all that counts.
I notice the amount of viewings the "poll" question has had, yet only 7 people have actually voted, what's that all about.

The name does not bother me but as I recall it was set up because of issues with parts from the factory ( hence the name ). I to have noticed the number of topic views against the number of votes. One problem is that there are not many Noble owners ( about 1000 ? ) and therefore even less on the interweb and then even less who are active posters. There is this PH forum plus the US noble forums so do we need another one ?
