I'm hotting up to my first track day at anglesey, i've been reading up,looking at previous attempts on u-tube and been given some excellent advice.
still feel a little aprehensive about smashing my pride and joy up although I have insurance and 2 sessions with an instructor.
Hopefully I've covered every base, just need to calm down on the hotel beer the night before!
so what were your first attempts like ? keep the smash stories down to a minimum if you please ... cheers guys

I remember really cacking it sitting in the car park at Bedford Autodrome a few years ago surrounded by people that looked like they knew what they were doing.. I was so nervous I almost went home - you know the feeling - where the nervousness is really physical butterflies in the stomach. Anyway I waited for about half an hour (it was open pit lane so lots of peoples rushed to go out all at once) for things to quiet down a little and then went out. Fantastic. Since then I have completed a mix of driving tuition and track days and love it!

I've even seen some cars I have read about in Evo!

I am in the same position. First one next weekend at Anglesey (are you doing the coastal on Saturday?)
Car been fully serviced, track day cover in place and a lesson booked. Looking at the list of drivers on that day, there are some tasty cars going (I'm in an MX5) and excitement is starting to turn to apprehension rather quickly.
I think the advice of letting everyone go off at the start while I watch with a cuppa for a while seems a good idea but I was just hoping to jump in with the plan of taking it very easy and gradually winding up as confidence grows. That, and lots of breaks (open pit).

First trackday was at Oulton, nearly stuffed it into the barrier at Druids and locked my brakes up going too quickly into Old Hall.
Fantastic stuff.
You'll feel very nervous, but once the sighting lap is out of the way, just take it steady and don't drive beyond your comfort zone for the first few laps. After that, get your foot down and enjoy.
