We take delivery of our Granturismo next month, it ha already arrived at Egham but we are out of the country. However, on shopping around for insurance the cheapest quote we have got so far is £957.00 which is more than I expected and is expensive when compared with our Aero 8. frown

Am I being unrealistic or is this about the going rate? Any recommendations on particular insurance companies or brokers that give a good deal on Maserati's?

I always found that Tesco were the cheapest when I ran the 3200. They don't seem to be that biased against the exotics. (or at least that used to be true...).

Will the Morgan Insurance people not do you a decent quote?

Looking forward to seeing some pics when it turns up!

Many thanks Guys, tried Tesco (on the web) mr_tony and they closed me down at the end saying there was a technical fault on the site that they were aware of and if I wanted to take it further I should phone them. I've found quite a few insurance sites do this presumably when they don't want to cover the risk. frown

I'll try Michael Ward on Tuesday and I'll let you know what quote they come up with...

Thanks again for your help. biggrin

80-90k car, £957.00 doesn't sound all that bad to me. If it was a gamble, which through the insurer's eyes it is. Would you give them odds?

It cost me £950 to insure my GranTurismo (34 yrs old, full NCD, 3 points) with ZPC. You could no doubt get cheaper than this if you want cheapo crap insurance from one of the internet insurers (just pray you never have to make a claim!)

whilst on this topic, my renewal is due for my maser spyder. any ideas who to go to? have filled out the form for michael ward. tried zurich who quoted 1400 which is only just cheaper than my renewal with direct line(which seems excessive). 36, full no claims, no points etc. living in w1, garaged. the w1 bit but doesnt seem to help.

Thanks guys and elms in particular. So far Michael Ward have quoted the lowest (with a reputable insurance company) @ £890.00. I still have a couple of quotes to come in and then we can get the car registered as we want to take delivery on the 18th April 2008. smile

+++1 for MWA. You need someone to provide you peace of mind. One thing is shopping around and another is cutting corners... Tesco on a Maser GT..? Sigh.

Have you tried "Classic Cars" at Alexander Forbes-whilst originally a "fleet collectors policy"specialist, they may offer you cover on the basis that only one car is being driven at any one time.
Premiums are calculated at outset and again in 12 months.
You can add and delete cars at will, with no additional premium (or refund )
If you have daily transport not listed on PH,then they can be included.
I currently have cover for 4 regular cars,a 63 classic and GT3-for under 2k premium.
