VHS to DVD

Apologies if this is a repost, search doesn't seem to be working and a quick scan of this forum didn't offer up anything obvious.

I've got some videos I'd like to get converted to DVD, some are pre-recorded and some are not (no, they're not dodgy!) and wondered if anyone could recommend a company they have used.

I have Googled, but I'd prefer to go with a personal recommendation if possible.

Buying a DVD recorder would probably be cheaper in the long run.

^^ Get a second hand one off ebay, transfer all the VHS and resell it, the amount you'll lose will probably be a lot less than you'd pay a company to do it. If you're going to keep it could get a new one though.
