Might be taking the old Wedge overseas this summer.

I know that Wedges are OK on the Channel tunnel (ppl who went to Le Mans should be able to confirm this?)...

If I went Dover - Dunkerque or Dover - Calais on the boat, would the loading ramps etc be too sharp??

Anyone got any experience, successful or not?!?

crossed several times by ferry (norfolkline, p&o, seafrance) from dover with an original (not lowered) wedge and there was still plenty of space between the car and the ramps.

I had no problems on my trip to Le Mans and the car was fully loaded, two up, full tanks and a boot full of camping gear. The ferry companies are used to low cars so a wedge will not be a problem. They tend to put planks in front of the ramps to make the step up less abrupt.

Have fun on your Euro tour.

I've used P&O and Norfolk Line across the channel, and not had a real problem - my Wedge has the front under-spoiler still on, which is pretty low and will be the first thing to touch, but as long as you take the ramps at 45 deg. or so, and very slowly, you should be ok.

Hey Ed!

No worries about the ferry, dad gets on with the ultima no problem and i always take it slow and have no problems either!

Only take the car on at le mans time, but the ferry staff seem really friendly and keep a cloe eye on the splitter etc as you get on...

Plenty of ground clearance to ensure a few cases can be shoved in the boot!!

You doing le mans? Im doing the classic! Wanna tag along?!
