I have found the cause of the issue with not being able to select any gears. The seals in the master cylinder have perished and all the fluid has drained. I am planning to replace the both the master and slave cylinders to be on the safe side. Is this a reasonably straight forward evolution and where is the best place to source the parts? I have searched on google and looking at approx 120 pounds for the pair - does this sound reasonable? I have heard that these parts are shared with the Grif an Cerbera as well as old Triumphs etc?

Changed mine a couple of years ago, 120 pounds seems reasonable, got mine from the local motor factors in Bridgend. Be careful when undoing the pipework, if it`s the original then it may have been on the car for nearly 20 years-ish and it`s easily damaged, thumbup

You could replace the seals for about £15 if the cylinders are not pitted or scored.

I happened to notice clutch master/slave cylinders in the Car Builder Solutions catalogue, see http://www.carbuildersolutions.co.uk/download/cata... look on page 4. I haven't checked them out in detail as mine appear OK for the moment but I'm pretty certain they could be made to work fine.
