I had a similar issue with mine and the normal Mr Muscle window cleaner was not touching it but brake cleaner did.

Anybody know what causes this fogging? I could have perfectly clean windows one afternoon then after overnight in the garage they would be almost opaque. It's like an oily film. Could it be some sort of electrostatic charge attracting eg petrol or hot oil vapour? It is quite easy to generate sparks when cleaning the windows!

Is it really a static charge that causes the problem of fogging?

steve896 there is a product called Renovo which is a cleaner and polish, it will polish out any scratches in the perspex, a little expensive at £15 plus p+p but it does exactly what it sais on the tin, or you can go for the cheaper version called Plexus at £9, both of these products can be bought from the Pilot Shop, I use the Renovo for the side doors on my aircraft and like I said it does exactly what it sais on the tin, brilliant stuff, hope this helps.

As Paul said it is like a grease film. The window cleaner I normally use cleans road film but would not shift this.

Same for me and the older the car gets the more it fogs up. I tried Steve's idea and mine look great but usually this goes in a couple of weeks especially in the winter.

I know the canal/boat/small plane owners who also have polycarbonate windows use 'Jif creme' or is it 'Cif' now ?, anyway they buff 'em with that and apparently it brings 'em up a treat.

Used a product called Renovo which is a cleaner and polish. It is expensive, however you only used a small quantity. Highly recommend.
